Delivery to the exhibition: the courier does not enter the hall
Couriers do not deliver to your stand inside large halls such as RAI Amsterdam and Messe Duesseldorf. Parcels stop at the goods reception, and the in-house partner charges to bring them in: at the RAI at least €47 per shipment. The cheapest route is to bring the wall yourself.
This is the most expensive assumption in exhibitions: that a parcel will simply be delivered to your stand on build-up day. At the two halls where our customers exhibit most often, it is not.
The rule
Large exhibition centres work with one in-house logistics partner and do not let outside couriers onto the floor. Your parcel goes to a goods reception or courier point at the edge of the site and stays there until someone collects it, or until the in-house partner brings it to your stand for a fee.
At RAI Amsterdam the in-house partner holds courier shipments at the courier point. You collect in person, or have it delivered for €10 per 100 kg or €30 per m³, with a minimum of €47 per shipment.
At Messe Duesseldorf it runs through the official forwarder. A forklift or crane slot is booked per slot for €35, and a minimum fee of €175 applies even if the equipment is not used.
What that means for our walls
A 300 by 250 cm wall travels as one case of about 0.152 m³ and 22.5 kg. On the RAI tariff that comes to €5, so the minimum of €47 is what you pay. The same goes for every size we sell: no case is large or heavy enough to go above the minimum.
So there is no tariff table to work out, just one amount to budget. Put it in your exhibition budget and it will not surprise you.
What we promise, and what we do not
We deliver to the address you give us: your office, your stand builder, your hotel or the venue goods reception. We never promise to reach your stand inside the hall on build-up day, because that is a promise neither we nor any other supplier can keep.
Our "delivery to the goods reception" option does exactly what it says: to the goods reception, no further. What happens after that belongs to the venue's in-house partner and their tariff.
The safest order of events
Have the wall delivered to you or your stand builder a week before the show and bring it yourself. On the economical line from China a 300 by 250 fits in an ordinary car, weighs 22.5 kg and is up in 18 minutes. That is the whole reason the system was chosen.
If that is not possible, book the venue's handling in advance. Arranging it on the spot costs more, and on build-up day it often simply cannot be done.
